Project Assessment

Let's define your publishing strategy.

We take on a limited number of publishing projects each quarter. This intake helps us assess fit, clarify scope, and determine the most effective path for your book before we put a proposal together.

We prioritize projects where we can drive measurable results, not just production. Every submission is reviewed personally. Response within 24 to 48 hours.

Thoughtful answers move your submission to the top of the queue.

Part 2 · Direction

What are you hiring us for?

Your answer here determines what we ask next, and sets the direction for the proposal.

What should the consultation focus on?

Consultations are diagnostic. Tell us where you're stuck so we can prepare.

Part 4 · The Book

Tell us about the book.

A rough sketch is fine. We pressure-test it during review.

You are past the halfway point. The remaining questions shape the proposal.

Part 5 · Market

Market awareness.

Honest answers here save months in the launch phase.

Have you done market research?

Part 6 · Scope

Scope of work.

Select everything that could apply. We tighten scope in the proposal.

Content responsibility
Design preference
Part 7 · Brand

Brand and existing assets.

We work with what exists or build it from scratch. Both are fine.

Do you have a brand identity already?
Do you have a logo?

Part 8 · Investment

Timeline and budget.

We match scope to outcome, not to wishlist. Accurate numbers here speed up the proposal.

Investment note. Strategy-led engagements typically start at $1,000+ depending on scope. This covers our planning and execution. Advertising spend and external tools (e.g. review platforms, stock imagery, software subscriptions) are not included. If your project sits below this range or you want guidance before committing, the $50 consultation (billed after the call) is the right starting point.

Interest in an ongoing relationship?

This could be additional books, a monthly retainer, or catalog management.

Helps us prepare for the conversation. A link to your business, author site, or LinkedIn is enough.

Part 9 · Commitment

How we will work together.

These answers help us assess fit. We decline projects where the working relationship is misaligned. Any "no" here is useful information.

If our assessment recommends a different direction than your current plan, what would you do?

There is no wrong answer. This tells us whether our working styles align.

Do you agree to a data-driven approach?

We prioritize what data shows over what we feel, including your favorite ideas.

Expected client involvement
Do you agree expectations may need to be recalibrated as we learn?
